Spotify Technology SA (NYSE:SPOT), Epic Games, and Match Group Inc (NASDAQ:MTCH) entered a non-profit group to fight against the App Store practices of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL).
Apple collects a fee of 15% to 30%
Apple charges between 15% and 30% for the downloaded apps by users using its in-app payment system on devices like the iPhone. The company is facing legal complaints and criticism from app developers.
The non-profit organization is established in Brussels and Washington D.C. for App fairness will advocate for the legal changes to force iPhone maker to eliminate fees for app downloads. Besides Match, and Spotify, other coalition players include Tile, Deezer, Blockchain, Blix, Basecamp, and European developers comprising News Media Europe, European Publishers Council, and Protonmail.
