Research Frontiers Inc. (NASDAQ:REFR) Stock Gains Momentum: What’s The Buzz?

Research Frontiers Inc. (NASDAQ:REFR) jumped 12%. Recently the company announced its Q1 2021 financial results and provided updates of recent projects and developments for its SPD-SmartGlass light-control tech.  The company’s licensing activities fee income was $213,123 in the quarter compared to $356,173 a year ago.

The drop resulted from lower fees in aircraft and automotive markets, as the pandemic curtailed certain Daimler vehicles production. As a result, the company reported a net loss of $557,307 or $0.02 per share, reducing $624,594  a year ago.

At the end of the quarter, the company had $4.2 million in cash and cash equivalents and around $4.7 million in working capital. Research Frontiers has enough working capital to run operations up to late 2023. In Q1, General Motors announced that its Cadillac division new vehicle, the Celestiq, will provide a four-quadrant SPD-SmartGlass roof. Equally, during the quarter, the company enhanced SPD emulsion film products’ production capacity. Therefore, investors should keep an eye on REFR. On Friday, REFR stock surged 12% at $2.55 with more than 336k shares, compared to its average volume of 192K shares. The stock has moved within a range of $2.2400 – 2.6496 after opening the trade at $2.27.
