Yesterday, Cambray Mutual Holding Company (the MHC), Gouverneur Bancorp Inc (OTCMKTS:GOVB) and Gouverneur Savings and Loan Association (the bank) made a key new announcement, which could have an effect on the Gouverneur Bancorp stock. The three entities announced that Faye C Waterman had resigned as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Gouverneur Bancorp.

On Monday, GOVB stock ended flat at $6.76 with more than 79 shares, compared to its average volume of 696 shares. The stock moved within a range of $6.76 – 6.76 after opening trade at $6.76.

He had also resigned from her position on the MHC and also at the bank. The board of directors of the company thanked Waterman for his contributions, leadership and services over the years. The resignation had actually gone into effect on April 13, 2023 but it was announced by Gouverneur Bancorp yesterday.

In addition to that, the company also announced that the board of directors had also announced that it had appointed Charles C Van Vleet Jr to serve as the company President and Chief Executive Officer for the time being. Van Vleet is currently a director of the company and had previously served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Gouverneur Bancorp.

At the same time, Gouverneur Bancorp is going to start its search to come up with a suitable replacement for Waterman as the company’s next CEO.
