Home Depot Inc. (NYSE:HD) Expanding Learning Resources For Kids At Home Digital Field Trips
Home Depot Inc. (NYSE:HD) has announced new education video series Virtual Field Trips, to its digital DIY workshop library. This is where suppliers of Home Depot will offer kid-friendly insights and behind the scene tours on how production takes place until products hit retailer’s shelves.
Home Depot offering more learning resources to kids
Lisa DeStefano, Home Depot’s VP of branding marketing and creative, said that learning seems to be very different this year. This is as parents seem new ways of teaching their kids and entertaining them at home. She added that beginning with Bonnie Plants in October, and Back to the Roots in November, their Virtual Field Trips will offer fun and exclusive tours that have been specifically curated for young doers. Lisa said that from the supply chain to plant genetics, the company has broken down the stages into interactive, creative, and digestive videos. These are accompanied by DIY projects that offer excitement to conventional field trips to families.
The home improvement retailer is expected to expand its Discovery Education partnership in the Spring of 2021. With the expansion, they will offer additional projects and digital resources to the Science Fair Central platform. The Science Fair Central platform was launched originally in 2017 and has since offered more than two million students and educators with STEAM Project starters, material checklists, and scientific processes.
Partnership with discovery enhances support for young doers
Discovery Global is a world leader in standards-aligned digital curriculum resources, professional learning for K-12 classrooms, and engaging content. The expected partnership with The Home Depot further strengthens the company’s support of the youngest doers since the launch of the monthly kids’ workshops over two decades ago.
At the beginning of this year, the company launched another program to enhance its ties with customers. The company launched the Hurricane & Storm Preparedness Livestream Workshop. The program launched in partnership with expert associates to help people in storm-prone areas to prepare and protect their homes and families from floods, tornados, and floods.
