Is Genius Brands International (NASDAQ:GNUS) Stock a Good Investment Bet For 2021?
During the first half of the year Genius Brands International (NASDAQ:GNUS) had come into the attention of many investors and the company’s stock ended up clocking gains of 33% during that period.
The company which is involved in the children’s media space gained considerable momentum after it performed impressively in the first quarter, concluded a series of important deals and also launched its own streaming channel named Kartoon. That being said, the second half of the year has not been that great for the Genius Brands stock and at this point, it is up by only 14% in 2021.
However, it cannot be denied in the first half of the year, the company hit a home run with the launch of Stan Lee’s Superhero Kindergarten, featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger. It garnered in excess of 40 million views and proved to be a major positive trigger for the stock as well. On the other hand, Genius Brands also generated a 218% year on year rise in sales in the first quarter of the year.
Much of that boost was due to the February acquisition of ChizComm Beacon Media. The company is still a loss making operation and the stock is still a penny stock. Hence, there is a fair amount of risk for investors who might be interested in the stock.
