The company announced yesterday that it had appointed a new Chief Operating Officer in the form of Paul Heikkila.
In the news release, Wanderport Corporation noted that the move was a strategic one that marked a major new phase in the expansion of the company. It also demonstrated the company’s recognition of the importance of fossil fuels amidst the worldwide move towards renewable energy. The company stated that Heikkila boasted more than 19 years of experience in the oil and gas space, both in the offshore and onshore industries.
Heikkila started off his career as a commercial diver and rope access technician after having served in the Navy. In that role, he was involved in the inspection of offshore platforms. Later on, he moved into onshore work in the form of a landman. In that role, which he took up in 2004, he worked with some of the biggest names in the energy sector, like Chevron, Pioneer Natural Resources, and EOG, among others. It was also noted that Heikkila had the skills to take care of utility franchise agreements and make sure that the agreements remained in alignment with the business goals while sticking to federal laws.
The company noted that it anticipated that the leadership provided by Heikkila would be crucial in taking the full production capacity of Wanderport Corporation to 200% of its current capacity in the next three years. The company seeks to do that through the optimization of the existing wells under its control and the acquisition of new leases.
